That Plastics Guy was launched in January 2024 by Kurt Stahle. The creative idea for this podcast came about after Kurt held discussions with a team of consultants. Initially, the podcast was intended to increase brand awareness for his company, Simcoe Plastics Ltd., (where Kurt is the owner and president) but it has grown into so much more over the past (almost) two years.
The podcast is produced entirely by Kurt - from writing scripts, to sourcing guests and uploading media, he does it all. The content is centred around Kurt's experience in the plastics industry; over four decades of knowledge. As the host, he shares his wealth of experience through discussions, presents his views on current events and interviews industry leaders and stakeholders.
Each episode delves into the multifaceted aspects of plastics, from production and innovation to environmental impact and sustainable practices.

Meet our host
Kurt Stahle a.k.a. "That Plastics Guy" is a distinguished figure in the plastics industry with 40+ years of experience. Presently the President & owner of Simcoe Plastics Ltd., Kurt has an extensive career includes founding and leading multiple companies.
He started working at his family-owned manufacturing business as a young child, then moving to the injection molding business in his mid-teens. From the shop floor to the boardroom, Kurt has worked with people at all levels of an organization in multiple industries.
His expertise spans across strategic business development, financial
planning, and sustainable practices in the plastics sector. He has a proven track record of securing contracts and cultivating long-lasting relationships with clients in various market segments, including agriculture, housewares, film & packaging, and construction.
With an academic background in Economics and Industrial Relations from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Canadian School of Management, Kurt combines technical knowledge with business
acumen.
His continuous professional development and commitment to the industry make him a sought-after speaker, consultant and a
leading podcaster in the plastic.
